The metamorphosis from "Penta" to c/o56
We are not really a new hotel, have been on the market for a few years. Decades, if you're honest. We don't hide our identity under a new hat. In many ways, the c/o56 Hotel Chemnitz is the result of a metamorphosis: It looks different than it did under the name "Penta," has different textures, different interfaces and different colors. Maybe the hair sits a little differently, the beard is a little longer or shorter. But our true face remains. Just as our guests came to know and love it.
We have looked around a bit in the world. What do other hotels do differently than before, what do they no longer do at all? How do people live, travel and work today, what gives them pleasure, what disturbs or upsets them? In the process, we learned one thing above all: in the end, people are still people, just like us. We have merely evolved a bit. Because life is change.
The story of Hotel c/o 56 Chemnitz, previously Pentahotel Chemnitz, is like growing up. We had to find ourselves and our place: in life and in the community.
Growing up
In the beginning we were a 5-star hotel. We wanted to offer our guests the very best. Especially because there wasn't that much quality and class in the city. Well, afterwards you are wiser. Today we know that some things do not exist because they are not needed.
So we refocused and became something else that didn't exist here: part of the lifestyle brand "Penta". A brand that is creative and colorful. That traveled the world. We fell in love with this young, free-spirited and relaxed style and became part of this world.
Cool, sexy and attractive we were now because we belonged. Always had a snappy saying on our lips. When you grow up, you don't need much else. But then you realize that "storytelling" is not much more than talking to yourself. That what connects us to our guests is something else entirely.
It's not about being cool. It's about being attentive. Not about how we present ourselves. But about how the guests feel. It's not about the taglines, it's about conversations.
We noticed it a while ago. Have been living and acting by it for a long time. High time our hotel brand reflected it.
