On the weekend of the KOSMOS Festival, Alexander Tauscher, presenter of the well-known podcast Radioreise, was our guest at c/o56 Chemnitz. In a relaxed atmosphere on our hotel terrace, we had a personal conversation about Chemnitz, our hotel and the special atmosphere surrounding the Capital of Culture Year 2025. The podcast provides exciting insights into the transformation of the city, the festival events and our role as hosts in the heart of Chemnitz.

      Since May, there has been a modern e-bike station with 8 bikes in front of our hotel - ideal for anyone who wants to hire an e-bike in Chemnitz. The bikes can be easily booked via the website of our partner Sunshine Bikes and picked up directly at the station. Whether hotel guest or Chemnitz resident - everyone can use this flexible and sustainable mobility offer. The station is powered by 100% green electricity, making it easier than ever to get around in an environmentally friendly way.

          A celebration of the heart that warms

          Anyone who was at c/o56 on St Nicholas' Day could feel the warmth that came from the heart. 50 families, who have sometimes been hit hard by life, were carried by a wave of solidarity. Thanks to a joint initiative with Chemnitz-based energy supplier Eins, the families experienced an evening full of joy, laughter and unforgettable moments. A lovingly put together programme, delicious food and warm encounters - it was more than just a celebration, it was a sign of hope and togetherness.

              Chemnitz residents donate thousands of euros after club is dissolved

              The non-profit organisation Skål Club Chemnitz has disbanded in 2023 and donated its remaining funds: A total of 12,000 euros went to the Don Bosco House, the parents' association for children with cancer and the children's and youth recreation centre Am Filzteich in Schneeberg. Of the 12,000 euros, 9,300 came from the association's coffers. c/o56 has topped up the amount to 12,000 euros, so that each of the three organisations has 4,000 euros at its disposal. The donation was handed over in a festive setting at c/o56. The parents' association is planning to purchase an "Avatar" communication robot, which will enable children to take part in lessons in a fun way despite their illness.

                  The innovative shop concept of our hotel shop "c/onsum 56" was awarded first place in the "Best Retail Award 2024". Our hotel's own self-service shop, which is open around the clock, won in the "Store Concept" category. Falko Grober, General Manager of the hotel, emphasised: "This award is confirmation that it pays to boldly break new ground. We are also the first East German company to ever be honoured with first prize in this category."
