A celebration of the heart that warms

Anyone who was at c/o56 on St Nicholas' Day could feel the warmth that came from the heart. 50 families, who have sometimes been hit hard by life, were carried by a wave of solidarity. Thanks to a joint initiative with Chemnitz-based energy supplier Eins, the families experienced an evening full of joy, laughter and unforgettable moments. A lovingly put together programme, delicious food and warm encounters - it was more than just a celebration, it was a sign of hope and togetherness.

Chemnitz residents donate thousands of euros after club is dissolved

The non-profit organisation Skål Club Chemnitz has disbanded in 2023 and donated its remaining funds: A total of 12,000 euros went to the Don Bosco House, the parents' association for children with cancer and the children's and youth recreation centre Am Filzteich in Schneeberg. Of the 12,000 euros, 9,300 came from the association's coffers. c/o56 has topped up the amount to 12,000 euros, so that each of the three organisations has 4,000 euros at its disposal. The donation was handed over in a festive setting at c/o56. The parents' association is planning to purchase an "Avatar" communication robot, which will enable children to take part in lessons in a fun way despite their illness.

The innovative shop concept of our hotel shop "c/onsum 56" was awarded first place in the "Best Retail Award 2024". Our hotel's own self-service shop, which is open around the clock, won in the "Store Concept" category. Falko Grober, General Manager of the hotel, emphasised: "This award is confirmation that it pays to boldly break new ground. We are also the first East German company to ever be honoured with first prize in this category."
